AFT score chart: the standards for every event and age group
By FPKT · Published
Quick answer: The AFT score chart turns your result on each event into 0 to 100 points, based on your age group, your sex and your standard. To pass, you need at least 60 points on all five events, which adds up to 300. The Combat standard also requires 350 total. For ages 17–21 in the men’s and Combat column, 60 points means a 150-pound deadlift, 15 hand-release push-ups, a 2:28 sprint-drag-carry, a 1:30 plank and a 19:57 two-mile run.
FPKT, a free app for iPhone, iPad and Mac, turns your results into points as you type, for your age, sex and standard, and keeps the Army’s full score tables on your device, even offline.
This AFT score chart shows what it takes to earn 60, 70, 80, 90 and 100 points on each of the five Army Fitness Test (AFT) events, for all ten age groups. Every number comes from the Army’s official score tables, approved 15 May 2025 and effective 1 June 2025. Those were still the tables on the Army’s AFT page when we checked on 1 November 2026.
How do you read the AFT score chart?
Find your column and your age group, then read across. The Army’s tables have two columns for each age group, and these charts keep them apart:
- M | C column: men on the General standard and everyone on the Combat standard, so a woman in a combat specialty uses this column too.
- F column: women on the General standard.
- Each number is the least you need. It’s the lightest deadlift, the fewest push-ups, the shortest plank or the slowest sprint-drag-carry or run time that earns at least that many points.
- Some point values don’t exist. The official tables skip some values, and then the chart shows the next result up, which earns more than the column heading, usually by 1 to 3 points but by as many as 9. For example, the F column for ages 17–21 has no 70-point deadlift: 130 pounds earns 68 points and 140 pounds earns 75, so the 70 column shows 140.
- The last age group is labeled “Over 62.” It comes right after 57–61, and the tables don’t say where a 62-year-old belongs. We treat it as age 62 and up, so confirm with your grader if you’re 62.
- Use your age for this test. No Army publication we checked says which date your age counts from. The scorecard has an age box for each test, so if a birthday falls close to your test, confirm with your grader.
For a point value between these columns, use the Army’s full score tables. Our guide to how the AFT is scored explains the two standards and who each one applies to.
What is the minimum to pass the AFT by age?
You need 60 points on every event, whatever your total. On the M | C column that ranges from a 150-pound deadlift and 15 push-ups at ages 17–21 down to 140 pounds and 10 push-ups for the oldest groups. In the F column the deadlift minimum is 120 pounds at every age. Sixty on all five adds up to 300, which passes the General standard but falls 50 points short of the Combat standard. These are the results that earn 60:

What are the AFT two-mile run standards?
The Two-Mile Run (2MR) is scored by finish time, so each number is the slowest that earns those points. The youngest group doesn’t have the tightest minimum: ages 22–31 do, at 19:45 in the M | C column and 22:45 in the F column, compared with 19:57 and 22:55 at ages 17–21. For 100 points, the M | C column takes 13:22 at ages 17–21 and the F column takes 15:30 at ages 22–31.

What score do you need on the Combat standard?
Soldiers in the 24 combat specialties, which since 17 April 2026 include 12D, 89D and 89E, need at least 60 on every event and at least 350 total, which works out to an average of 70 points per event. Our guide to how the AFT is scored lists them all. Everyone on the Combat standard uses the M | C column, whatever their sex. Four events at the minimum can’t pass: 60 on four events plus a perfect 100 on the fifth is only 340. So plan on points above 60 in at least two events.
A Soldier on a permanent profile needs an average of 70 on the events the profile allows: 280 for four events, 210 for three, 140 for two and 70 for one. Each of those events still needs 60, and an alternate event needs a GO.
What are the AFT alternate event times?
The alternate aerobic events stand in for the two-mile run, mainly for Soldiers with a permanent profile that rules it out. Our guide to how the AFT is scored covers who qualifies. They’re graded GO or NO-GO instead of 0 to 100: you get a GO by finishing within the time for your age group and column, and the scorecard records a GO as 60 points. At ages 17–21 in the M | C column, that means 31:00 for the 2.5-mile walk, 26:25 for the 12 km bike and 30:48 for the 1 km swim or the 5 km row.
Soldiers in combat specialties get 70 points for a GO when semi-centralized promotion points are worked out. In a combat specialty, a permanent profile that rules out any AFT event also means you can’t take the Combat Field Test, and you’ll be evaluated for reclassification unless you get a waiver.
